“I invent nothing, I rediscover.”
Auguste Rodin
Revinished has been creating one-of-a-kind pieces (for homes, yards and businesses) for several years now. What started as a creative side hustle has gradually become a business that keeps us busy throughout the entire year. When we aren’t “picking” at auctions, estate sales, junk sales, flea markets and trade days, we are out collecting driftwood. We collect and purchase reclaimed wood and metal items throughout the year to create enough product for custom orders and the shows that fill our calendar during the spring and fall months.
Having participated in the State Fair of Texas, Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Junior League Markets and Craft Fairs across the central United States, Revinished now sells more than 2,000 individually hand-crafted items each year. Being a literal “mom and pop shop” has caused us to have to pull the reins back a bit in order to keep up. And, after several years, we have narrowed our events to our favorites only. Andy Warhol is quoted as saying, “Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.” Our niche of creativity (making old things new) may not be for everyone, but we have established a clientele that sees the beauty in it.
We really enjoy the opportunity to hear what the customer has in mind, help them visualize the possibilities, come up with a plan to make it happen and see the project through to the end. From plasma cutting and welding metal, making signs from old metal shelves, windows, doors and shutters, painting old relics, designing light fixtures from vintage farm implements, turning old tools, horse tackle and gas cans into pieces of art and making Christmas trees from driftwood, there is nothing outside the realm of possibility for Revinished. “The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless.” – Jean-Jacques Rousseau
